A diamond in the rough. This little sub shop has all you'd expect in the way of subs and gyros and, in fact, the ambiance is a mere sub shop. But the menu! I had grilled catfish with a nice salad, a generous slice of garlic bread, and roasted vegetables. My wife was wary but wanted to try the N.Y. strip steak and baked potato. We were both very impressed and she said her steak was as good as she's had anywhere. The steaks here are marinated and it makes a difference. The menu also sports other appealing offerings, such as a grilled chicken plate, fajitas, and shrimp scampi, among a few others. They have available a nice variety of dishes. The owner/manager takes pride in his work and visited our table several times to make sure we were happy and shared his enthusiasm in the preparation of our food. Don't go to Bill & Ruth's for the atmosphere. Go for the food! You'll leave happy if you do.

The owner is a militant Al Queda backing nut job who likes to tell his clients about why there must be violence. His kids cringe every time he does it. No thanks.

You could easily drive by this place and not even notice it. But well worth the search. Not just subs. The owner was a former chef at several different hotels and takes pride not only in the taste of the food but presentation too! Awesome steak! Probably best steak I have had in a long time. Everything was delicious and the service was awesome!

This place has a lot more than sandwiches. There is a wide variety of grilled American food like steak, chicken, and burgers. The place has a lot of Greek food too. I recommend the baklava. The owner is very laid back and takes his time -- don't expect to be in a hurry.

Just stopped in on the way to my daughter's soccer game and I gotta say, this place is great. Tons of typical American food on the menu, although I went with the Gyro. I've had Gyro's all over the United States, Virginia, California, Texas, New York...and this gyro was the best! Slathered in that yummy yogurt sauce, thin-sliced meat, freshly cut lettuce and tomato and a fresh pita wrap. Excellent! My entire family ate there the next day and they all raved about the freshness and excellent taste. I spoke with the owner while waiting on my gyro and he has a great attitude and insight about how a restaurant should be managed. He claimed to make everything fresh daily....nothing sits in his cooler and is reused the next day. Even the bread is baked fresh daily. Prices are comparable to other places, but it's way better than Subway, or any other "sandwich" shop you'll ever have. I highly recommend Bill and Ruth's in Sand Springs.

On our way through heading back home a friend of mine and I stopped here for lunch. Just a quick little store front, with counters and a grill right there. They have pictures of their food plastered all through the front, and not much decor that I could remember for the rest of the restaurant. However, what they lack in decor they most certainly make up for with taste! My friend had a cheeseburger with french fries, she said was not the best she'd ever had, but certainly better than most she had had. I had the gyro (which comes with a mix of beef and lamb) and their hummus. The hummus was fresh made, like when I ordered it they went back and made this hummus. It was delicious! I only wish I had gotten more pieces of pita bread to dip in it! My gyro was about the same as my friends cheeseburger. Not the worst I've ever had, but not the best either. My biggest complaint is that its as messy as it is. Otherwise I would have probably finished the whole thing, but I got tired of fighting with it to stay together. It was very good, and I am willing to bet that the tzatziki sauce is home made. I would definitely go back again!

I tried the grilled chicken salad and have to say it was the worst salad I've ever eaten. The chicken was old and tasted wierd. Could not eat it. Wasted $7.
